Hi! I’m Jennifer, but you can call me Jenn.
I am the proud owner of Paws and Palaces.
As a lifelong lover of animals, I’ve been lucky to always have them in my life. I grew up in Central and North Central Washington and was raised learning how to care for all kinds of animals — from cats to cattle. We always had at least two dogs and too many cats to count. The majority of my childhood was spent outdoors either following my big brothers around catching snakes and frogs or taking my horse out for an afternoon of adventure.
I am currently without a pet of my own but hope to have the time and space to make that happen someday. In the meantime, I’m getting that itch scratched every day.
Since 1990, I have lived here in Seattle and have often wished for more connection with animals, but instead, I became a bartender. (insert laugh/groan here! 😉)
After sustaining a serious injury to my arm in 2015, I returned to college and earned a business degree; I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and have had at least a million good ideas. In 2017, I started walking dogs and pet sitting as a hobby, never thinking of it as my job. Then, one day, the lightbulb turned on, and I knew that this was the business for me.

I am genuinely gobsmacked that I get to spend the better part of most days with some of the coolest animals in town. It brings me a tremendous amount of joy and improves my well-being. I can’t wait to see where this road takes me, and I hope you and your furry friends will be with me for the ride.

I provide dog walking, pet sitting, and house sitting services to the Mt. Baker, Columbia City, Beacon Hill, and Rainier Beach neighborhoods of Seattle. I’m available for daily trips to the dog park, pet sitting at your home, and drop-in visits for feeding, potty breaks, and playtime. I can even take your pup on just a regular walk as well.
Generally, I’m available Monday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm; all other times are open to discussion. I am licensed and insured and will continually be working to gain more knowledge and training in order to provide the best and safest care possible to your pets.
Although I occasionally travel outside of the area for a change of scenery, I usually take my charges to the Genesee Dog Park, Blue Dog Pond, and Cedar River Dog Park. If we are just going for a walk, I love to head over to Lake Washington and Seward Park — being by the water or in the trees is basically a necessity.
